SkyWest CRJ Captain David Lund exemplified SkyWest’s guiding principles of showing respect and providing excellent service by turning a bad day for a passenger into his best flight ever. After forgetting an item while going through security, the passenger did not realize his mistake until he was boarding his flight. After notifying the flight attendant – who then notified the gate agent – TSA confirmed they had the passengers missing item. However, there was not enough time to go back for it. That was until Captain Lund found out about it and sprinted through the airport to pick up the item with just seconds to spare. Captain Lund not only went the extra mile, but made a lasting impression on the frequent flyer who noted that he’s “rarely seen such an act of amazing customer service.”
Joe HerrinSmart, dedicated, fast and hilarious are just some of the words Joe Herrin’s teammates use to describe him. During his seven years at SkyWest, Joe has shown that a great mechanic not only makes quick and timely repairs with a smile on his face, but also keeps the entire crew informed throughout the process. From his constant communication as well even offering to make announcements to passengers to alleviate any questions or concerns, Joe is a shining example of the the great culture we have here at SkyWest.
Karen SullivanWith more than 10 years of experience at SkyWest, Karen’s reputation certainly precedes herself thanks to her strong work ethic, friendliness and excellent customer service skills. Recently, a passenger lost his bag while flying in for a meeting. Karen quickly stepped in and not only located the bag, but kept in contact with the passenger the entire time until he was reunited with his belongings. The impact of it was not lost on the passenger as he started his business meeting only after he could share how impressed he was with Karen and the entire SkyWest team.
