Statement from SkyWest Chairman and CEO Jerry Atkin

After visiting with injured flight attendants in Salt Lake City, SkyWest’s Chairman and CEO Jerry Atkin issued the following statement:

“I have just come from visiting with our flight attendants. The safety and recovery of SkyWest’s employees is our primary concern and we are doing everything we can to take care of our own. Initial information from emergency services personnel at the hangar indicate that the injuries are not life threatening. Three flight attendants have been transported to a local hospital in Salt Lake City, and the flight attendants’ families have been notified.

“While we can’t confirm many details at this time, our safety experts are investigating and cooperating with authorities to determine the cause of the incident. We pledge SkyWest’s full cooperation with the authorities, and we will assist these experts in every way possible.

“I cannot stress enough that our first priority is - and must be - caring for our employees, and their recovery and safety is our focus.”
