Statement from SkyWest Airlines Regarding Incident at the Salt Lake City hangar
At this time, SkyWest’s primary concern is to ensure the safety of our employees.
We are pleased to report that initial information from emergency services personnel at the hangar indicate that the injuries are not life threatening. Three employees have been transported to a local hospital in Salt Lake City, and SkyWest is currently investigating the incident.
What we do know is that at approximately 11:15 AM MT on Thursday morning, May 5, 2005 a plane was being repositioned on the ramp at the SkyWest Hangar in SLC. Employees near the aircraft were affected by the jet blast, and sustained injuries due to the thrust.
Once again, the safety of SkyWest’s employees is SkyWest’s primary concern and we are doing everything we can to take care of our own.
Additional information will be updated on skywest.com as it is made available.
