ELKO, Nevada. August 15, 2003 – SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW), is excited to announce special Fly Local Fares! Beginning August 11, 2003, Elko passengers can choose to fly for $99 each way between Elko and Reno, and $94 between Elko and SkyWest’s largest hub - Salt Lake City. Additionally, SkyWest will offer college students a special $64 fare each way between Elko and Reno, and Elko and Salt Lake City.

“We have given Elko our commitment for quality air service that is reasonably priced,” explained Steve Hart, SkyWest’s Vice President of Market Development. “This community is a piece of SkyWest’s history. We’ve had a partnership for more than 20 years, and we’re pleased to offer this fare to the community as part of our continued commitment.”

The special fares are part of the new “Fly Local” campaign and partnership SkyWest has made with the community. “Our goal is to ensure the long term viability of air service in Northeast Nevada. Reasonably priced local fares to Salt Lake City and Reno should go a long way toward achieving that objective,” said Hart.

In January 2002, SkyWest moved all of its Delta Connection flying to a “fee-per-departure” agreement. Under that arrangement, SkyWest was paid by Delta an agreed-upon departure rate for each completed flight, with additional incentive amounts based on performance goals. As of August 1, the “fee-per-departure” agreement at Elko ended, and SkyWest again assumes the financial risk, making it possible to better control seat inventories and pricing. Consequently, SkyWest passengers can now enjoy Fly Local Fares!

In addition to the Fly Local Fares!, Elko passengers will enjoy convenient parking and short lines for check-in and security. Passengers to Salt Lake City and Reno will also earn frequent flyer miles for Delta’s SkyMiles program. Salt Lake City passengers will have access to more than 300 Delta and Delta Connection flights worldwide. To book reservations, passengers can call their local travel agent, Delta Reservations at 800.221.1212, or book online at www.delta.com.

SkyWest currently operates under a marketing agreement in Elko with Delta Air Lines and under the Delta Connection banner. The US Department of Transportation has recognized SkyWest as the number one on-time airline in the United States three our of the last four months. As the nation's largest independently operated regional carrier, the airline carried 8.23 million passengers last year. System-wide, SkyWest has approximately 5,500 employees and serves a total of 100 cities in 27 states and two Canadian provinces with more than 1,100 daily departures.
