WACO, Texas, August 14, 2003 – SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW) is pleased to announce the appointment of Terry Payne as Station Manager in Waco. He will report directly to Greg Burton, SkyWest’s Regional Director in Houston.

In his new position, Terry will be responsible for overseeing the customer service and daily operations for SkyWest in Waco. He will be responsible for approximately 10 local employees at the Waco Regional Airport.

Terry grew up in Central Texas with the airline industry in his blood as the son of a Continental Airline employee. His own airline career began in 1981, as he worked with TranStar and Texas International Airlines. He joined SkyWest in 1990 and has held several management positions throughout the SkyWest system. Terry longed to return back to his roots, so the Waco opportunity proved a perfect fit.

“Terry knows the airline industry, and specifically SkyWest backward and forward,” said Burton. “His vast knowledge, coupled with his dedication to our customers will greatly benefit those who fly on SkyWest’s Continental Connection service to Houston.”

SkyWest is offering Waco Fly Local Fares!, giving passengers a $69 fare each way to Houston Intercontinental Airport. Once in Houston, passengers can connect to more than 140 destinations offered through Continental’s worldwide system. Passengers to Houston will also earn frequent flyer miles for Continental’s OnePass program. In addition to Fly Local Fares!, Waco passengers will enjoy convenient parking and short lines for check-in and security. To book reservations, passengers can call their local travel agent, Continental Reservations at 800.523.3273, or book online at www.continental.com.

SkyWest Airlines is the nation's largest independently operated regional carrier and carried 8.23 million passengers last year. The US Department of Transportation has recognized SkyWest as the number one on-time airline in the United States three out of the last four months. SkyWest operates as Continental Connection, Delta Connection and United Express carriers under marketing agreements with Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines respectively. System-wide, SkyWest has approximately 5,500 employees and serves a total of 100 cities in 27 states and two Canadian provinces with more than 1,100 daily departures.
