ST. GEORGE, Utah, August 12, 2003 – SkyWest Airlines, a
subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW), is pleased to announce
a new code-share agreement with Arlington, VA.-based US Airways.
The agreement reflects an extension of code-sharing services recently
implemented between US Airways and SkyWest partner United Airlines.
SkyWest will be the first United Express partner to carry the
US Airways (US) designator.
Implementation of the code-share arrangement will be done in phases,
with the US Airways code initially placed on selected United Express
flights between the Seattle markets of Portland and Spokane, Wash.
as well as several markets served from San Francisco; including
Boise, Idaho, Eugene, Ore., and the California cities of Fresno,
Monterey, Sacramento, and Santa Barbara. Eventually, US Airways-coded
service will appear on most SkyWest United Express flights from
hubs at Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle/Tacoma.
“As a result of the code-share, passengers traveling on
United Express will be able to make fast and efficient connections
to/from US Airways’ flights, significantly reducing travel
time,” said Steve Hart, Vice President of Market Development
for SkyWest Airlines. “SkyWest and US Airways will be working
together to ensure that customers receive excellent service when
traveling between the two carriers.”
While passengers should not notice any changes on specific codeshare
flights, the agreement allows each carrier involved to sell seats
on each other’s flights providing customers increased availability
to each airline’s networks, better coordination between
airlines for more convenient connection opportunities, and reciprocal
access to United’s Mileage Plus and US Airways Dividend
Miles frequent flyer programs.

200 communities in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean
