The special $99 fare is part of the new “Fly Local” campaign and partnership SkyWest has made with the community. “Our goal is to ensure the long term viability for air service in Pocatello and reasonably priced local fares to Salt Lake City should go a long way toward achieving that objective,” said Hart.

In January 2002, SkyWest moved all of its Delta flying to a “fee-per-departure” agreement. Under that arrangement, SkyWest was paid by Delta an agreed-upon departure rate for each completed flight, with additional to incentive amounts based on performance goals. As of August 1, the “fee-per-departure” agreement at Pocatello ends, and SkyWest again assumes the financial risk, making it possible to better control seat inventories and pricing. Consequently, SkyWest passengers can now enjoy Fly Local Fares!
