POCATELLO, Idaho, August 1, 2003 – SkyWest Airlines, a
subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW), is excited to announce
special Fly Local Fares! Beginning August 1, 2003, passengers
can fly for $99 each way between Pocatello and the airline’s
largest hub - Salt Lake City.
“We are committed to bringing quality air service to Pocatello
that is reasonably priced,” explained Steve Hart, SkyWest
Vice President Market Development. “We’ve partnered
with Pocatello for over 20 years, and we’re pleased to offer
this fare to the community as part of our continued commitment.”
The special $99 fare is part of the new “Fly Local”
campaign and partnership SkyWest has made with the community.
“Our goal is to ensure the long term viability for air service
in Pocatello and reasonably priced local fares to Salt Lake City
should go a long way toward achieving that objective,” said
Hart.
In January 2002, SkyWest moved all of its Delta flying to a “fee-per-departure”
agreement. Under that arrangement, SkyWest was paid by Delta an
agreed-upon departure rate for each completed flight, with additional
to incentive amounts based on performance goals. As of August
1, the “fee-per-departure” agreement at Pocatello
ends, and SkyWest again assumes the financial risk, making it
possible to better control seat inventories and pricing. Consequently,
SkyWest passengers can now enjoy Fly Local Fares!
In addition to the Fly Local Fares!, Pocatello passengers will
enjoy free parking and short lines for check-in and security.

nation's largest independently operated regional carrier, the

a total of 100 cities in 27 states and two Canadian provinces
and has more than 1,100 daily departures. This press release and
