ST. GEORGE, Utah, November 26, 2003 - SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW)
recognizes that the holiday season is fast approaching and would like to offer some tips to make
travel during this busy time comfortable and convenient.
SkyWest encourages all travelers to visit the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA)
"Traveler & Consumer Center" site at www.tsatraveltips.us to learn more about new airport
security measures and tips to help travelers save time and smoothly navigate the security
process. SkyWest also provides the following tips for holiday travelers:
When Packing - To reduce luggage while traveling, send packages and gifts ahead of time.
If you plan to bring items on-board, do not wrap presents until you have arrived at your final
destination as they are subject to search and may have to be unwrapped.
Airport Arrival and Check-in - SkyWest recommends that travelers arrive at the airport
approximately two hours prior to their flight's scheduled departure time. However, it's always
a good idea to contact the airline about flight status, appropriate arrival time, availability
of curbside check-in and proper e-ticket documentation.
Flying SkyWest - In addition to information provided by the TSA and SkyWest's partners,
go to the "Fly SkyWest" section of www.skywest.com for specific information on SkyWest's policies
for; baggage, passengers with disabilities, children traveling alone, and traveling with pets.
Security Screening - Be aware that electronic items (laptops, cell phones, etc.) are subject
to additional X-ray/screening. Remove all metal objects prior to passing through metal detectors.
Be prepared to show a government-issued photo ID, along with a boarding document with flight departure
for the current date to enter the secured area beyond the screening checkpoint. Keep in mind that
procedures may vary from airport to airport because of logistics, The Department of Homeland Security's
Alert Status, etc.
SkyWest wishes all travelers a safe and happy holiday season.
SkyWest Airlines is the nation's largest independently owned regional carrier and carried
8.23 million passengers last year. In their monthly Air Traveler Consumer Report, the US
Department of Transportation has recognized SkyWest as the number one on-time airline seven
of the last eight months. SkyWest operates as Continental Connection, Delta Connection and
United Express carriers under marketing agreements with Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines,
and United Airlines respectively. System-wide, SkyWest has approximately 5,600 employees and
