ST. GEORGE, Utah, October 13, 2003 – SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW) is excited to be recognized by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) as the number one on-time domestic airline in their monthly Air Travel Consumer Report. SkyWest has finished atop the list six out of the last seven months. For August, 89.8 percent of SkyWest flights arrived on-time.

“Being recognized by the DOT as the number one on-time airline is a testament of the type of employees we have here at SkyWest,” said Necia Clark-Mantle, SkyWest People Department Vice President. “We cannot emphasize enough our appreciation to the more than 5,600 members of the SkyWest Team who each day, commit themselves to delivering the best possible product to our customers. It’s their hard work and dedication that make SkyWest successful.”

SkyWest was added by the DOT to their Air Travel Consumer Report in January of 2003. The report tracks 17 domestic air carriers’ performance on a monthly basis. SkyWest is one of only five regional airlines included on the report.

SkyWest Airlines is the nation's largest independently operated regional carrier and carried 8.23 million passengers last year. SkyWest operates as Continental Connection, Delta Connection and United Express carriers under marketing agreements with Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines respectively. System-wide, SkyWest has approximately 5,600 employees and serves a total of 104 cities in 27 states and three Canadian provinces with more than 1,100 daily departures.
