INITIAL NEW HIRE TRAINING

Location/Length of Training: Initial New Hire Training is held in Salt Lake City, Utah at the SkyWest Airlines Hangar. This portion of training is for 24 consecutive days with two non-consecutive days off. Classroom instruction times will vary and can last up to 10 hours per day.

Pay: SkyWest does not provide compensation for your Initial New Hire Training. Your pay begins on the first day of your second phase of training, which is your Initial Operating Experience (IOE). The second phase begins after the successful completion of the Initial Training Program. You will receive your first paycheck within one month of completion of your Initial Operating Experience.

Training Bonus:
Flight Attendants trainees may be eligible to receive a training bonus. In order to qualify the trainee must be actively employed, have perfect attendance and be in good standing with SkyWest for 60 days from their fi rst day of training. If this criteria is met the Flight Attendant will receive an $800.00 training bonus in the pay period following the 60 day mark. The bonus is a one time offer available to qualified trainees who successfully complete training on their first attempt.

Travel: SkyWest Airlines provides a positive space round-trip ticket from the airport nearest your home.

Accommodations: SkyWest will provide accommodations for flight attendants attending our training program in SLC. Transportation to and from the training facility is provided by the hotel.

Home Study Packet: You will receive a Home study packet at least two weeks before you attend training. YOU WILL BE TESTED ON ITS CONTENTS THE FIRST DAY OF TRAINING. Failure will result in dismissal from training.

Some of the subjects covered in class: EMB-120 Aircraft, CRJ200, CRJ700 and CRJ900 Aircraft, Emergency procedures and evacuations, First Aid and CPR, Self-Defense, Hazardous Materials, Security, Federal Aviation Regulations, SkyWest Policy and Procedures, Appearance Standards, InFlight Service, Customer Service, Interpersonal Skills and Special Passenger Handling.

Initial Operating Experience (IOE): IOE is the second and fi nal phase of Initial New Hire training. IOE will be scheduled immediately following graduation from the fi rst phase of INH training. IOE will last between two (2) and eight (8) days depending on training qualifi cations needed. Once IOE has been successfully completed you will be provided travel home and assigned (if applicable) a reserve work schedule at your assigned base. If relocation is required, upon completion of IOE, you will be given four (4) days to relocate to your assigned domicile (if applicable). SkyWest will provide three nights hotel stay in your domicile if needed.

Seniority: Seniority is determined by your date of hire (first day of training) and the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Domicile: Domiciles will be assigned at the end of Initial New Hire training. Assignments will be based on operational need as well as company seniority. If a different domicile is preferred you may submit a transfer request. Transfer times vary depending on the growth in the desired domicile.
