Standards & Qualifications

To be considered for an aircraft dispatcher position with SkyWest Airlines, applicants must:

  • Possess a valid airman certificate by completion of the required knowledge test prescribed by FAR 65.55 and pass the required practical test prescribed by FAR 65.59
  • Posses a high school diploma or GED (two years of college, military service or related work experience is preferred)
  • Be a U.S. citizen or upon employment, submit verification of legal right to work in the United States
  • Be at least 23 years of age at the time of interview
  • Be able to read, speak, write and understand English
  • Possess a positive attitude and be able to work well with others in a diverse environment
  • Be available for shift work (four days on, three days off), holidays and/or overtime on a constant basis
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Possess excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Be able to successfully pass an FAA-mandated pre-employment drug test,10-year background screening and random testing after employment
  • Be willing to relocate to SkyWest Airlines’ headquarters in St. George, Utah
  • Have a stable employment history
